Rev. John F. "Uncle Kunkle," 95, passed into the arms of his loving Savior on March 11, 2012. Born Oct. 24, 1916, in Las Vegas, N.M. John spent 27 years as a missionary with World Gospel Mission, 16 of them in Bolivia, South America. He served 12 years in Wichita with his denomination The Evangelical Methodist Church, 10 as Gen. Superintendent. He is preceded in death by parents, David and Almeda (Parker) Kunkle; sisters, Peninnah Kirk and Mary; wife, Mable (Allen); and daughter, Jane. Survivors include children, Rev. Joe (Ellen), Dr. Nina and David (Rita); grandchildren, John, Jeremy, Angela, Amy and Ruth; and 12 great-grandchildren.
